About the Event

🧭 🗺️ Feel like you are navigating the wilderness? Grab a S'more and join Tracy Flood for a fireside chat about the changing landscape of public health and social sector jobs in the United States. Explore and discuss different career paths for improving health and well-being in communities. All are welcome to join (students, early-stage, job seekers, career switchers, career restarters, as well as curious career consultants, educators, potential partners, and future employers).

Hello, I'm Tracy

Tracy Flood MD, PhD

President and Co-founder

BroadStreet Institute


Dr. Flood has over a decade experience in community health data, data visualization, and training. After her Pediatric internship, Tracy became a Population Health Fellow at the University of Wisconsin (UW) stationed in Milwaukee. Tracy then worked to establish a new Preventive Medicine Residency Program at UW before becoming the Director of Data for The Wisconsin Obesity Prevention Initiative. In 2020, during the pandemic, Tracy founded the BroadStreet Institute a 501(c)3 non-profit. BroadStreet has hosted over 2,000 learners interested in improving population health. Tracy is passionate about empowering community change, increasing data literacy, and turning data into actions that will have long-term impact.

Goals & Objectives


Big Picture Goal: Empower those interested in public health as they search for opportunities to improve the world.


Objectives: By the end of the session, attendees will walk away with:

(1) A framework with which to approach the job landscape

(2) Terminology and lingo for the job hunt search

(3) New connections for an expanding network
