About the Event
Solving the the world's greatest challenges requires data. Join us for a 90 min STEP-by-STEP guided tutorial on how to find, calculate, and visualize data on maternal mortality by county. We will be using free resources available online. Practice career-ready skills while solving real-world challenges using data.
Workshop Series. This event is part of a workshop series. 3 steps culminate in a data-guided donation drive for Giving Tuesday. Join us for one or all of the steps!
Workshop 1. Where is maternal mortality high in the U.S.? Find and select key communities using data - Learn how to query and calculate data for any community.
Workshop 2. Why is mortality high? Collect clues on root causes within key communities. This is a data hunt for indicators.
Workshop 3. Donation Pitch - Which organizations are doing evidence-based solutions in key communities? Learn how to find levels of evidence to solve health challenges.
