Maternal & Infant Health Track
A training program for evaluating impact
In this track, you build job-ready skills in health education and program planning, with guidance every step of the way. We show you how to assess community health needs, create logic models, and prioritize resources. Make a data-guided donation to a nonprofit that is using evidence-based solutions in high-priority communities. Collaborate with teammates and work with real data.
Your Big-Picture Impact
You’re guided to make a difference by working on real solutions that reduce pregnancy-related and infant mortality in the United States. From day one, we help you see how your work connects to real outcomes.
By the end, you’ll complete a full project and build your portfolio with a data-guided donation funding proposal that supports better pregnancy outcomes.
What You’ll Do — Step by Step
We guide you through a full project life cycle. You’ll start with a mini community health assessment and work with real data on maternal and infant health. Next, you’ll create logic models, map community assets, set priorities, and propose smart resource allocation. This is hands-on learning that mirrors real public health work.
How You’ll Work
You’ll gain real-world experience through a mix of teamwork and independent work. We support you with clear goals, weekly communication, and structured sprints to keep you on track.
All skill levels are welcome. You’ll learn fast, grow your confidence, and develop job-ready skills along the way.
Time Commitment & Schedule
The internship runs 15 weeks in Spring/Fall and 10 weeks in the Summer. You’ll spend about 5 hours a week, with flexibility ranging from 2–10 hours.
Cohorts begin on the first Monday of February, June, and September. We ask that you commit for the full program so we can guide you to a strong final result.
